Paul has been in the landscape industry since
1989 starting as a shelf stocker at a garden center progressing
to the nursery manager then assistant manager of the operation.
Paul has been a wholesale fertilizer salesperson serving the retail
garden center and hydroponic industry and still can be found periodically
working in the retail sector in the high season.
Paul is on numerous volunteer committees including the membership
committee, fundraising committee, landscape standards review and
the landscape executive with the BCLNA. Paul also volunteers annually
with the Canwest horticulture show and is currently involved as
a steering committee member & subject matter expert with the
BC Arborist Apprenticeship program. Paul is the BC C.H.T. (Certified
Horticulture Technician for
Retail Garden Center) chairperson and is in consideration for the
National CLP for Retail Garden Center position. Paul won the award
for Young
Member of the Year with the BCLNA in 2003 and most recently won
the BCLNA
Member of the Year award for 2010.
Progress Landscaping is a supporting member of Plant Amnesty
and the Riverview Horticulture Preservation Society, is in good
standing with WorksafeBC, carries $5 million in general liability
insurance and belongs to numerous industry organizations including:
BCLNA, ISA, PNW chapter of the ISA and the CNLA.
Paul carries numerous certifications in the industry including:
ISA Certified Arborist, Certified Tree Risk Assessor, Certified
Allan Block Wall installer level 1, Aquascapes Designs trained
Pond Guy, WHMIS for Landscapers, Occupational First Aid level 1
and an accredited BC
Pesticide Applicator. Paul continues to further his knowledge by
attaining ISA approved CEU's (continuing education units) as listed.
